Going Private

I'm trying to catch up with the times, and Jeff won't let me post pictures of the kids' bummies, so I was thinking about going private. Can you give me your email address so I can add you?

Just a little teaser

A couple of weeks ago we had this

The boys were so excited. But it was just a quick little flurry that didn't last.

Then it warmed up a little (those are Popsicles).

Then it got cold again.

(The boys are waiting for pizza in this picture.)

We fear it is cold to stay this time. Maybe some snow to go along with it one of these days. But for now, just frost. And it's cold enough that Jeff's scooter won't start in the mornings. I told him he needs to get out there with the blow dryer. :)

Cute Boys

We were sitting down for dinner and Beck comes in, "I'm go-een ta work!"

And today Jeff was home so I took Jack to school by myself. I told Bricky when I left to help Beck make a bed for Hallie so she would be so toasty.

They were just finishing up when I got home. (can you see her under there? Her head is poking out of the far left)

They were so proud.

Talented? No.

I was sitting down at the piano, plunking out Away in a Manger. Jack came and sat down by me and I asked him if he could guess what I was playing.
"Star Spangled Banner?"

Bike Locks

Every morning around 9:01 (we need to leave by 9) there is a mad dash for backpack, gloves, make sure the hair is laying down, no milk on the face, teeth brushed, out the door (3 out of 5 is not a bad day).
We love riding our bikes to school though. Jack and Bricky ride and Beck sits in a chair on my bike. Usually Jack is out in front. I'm in the middle and Bricky is crying about 30 feet behind me about something. Cold, wait up, my heart is beating, etc... it's great.
So we got Jack his very own bike lock at the beginning of the year and it was one of the "more expensive" locks where you can program your own code.
I thought I was so smart when I looked up Jack's SS # and programmed it for the last 4 digits of his #. I knew in 15 years when he had to have that number memorized he would wonder why that number was so familiar to him already and then maybe remember it was his bike lock and put it all together and finally realize I am the greatest mom ever.

I could just end this post now.

But I durst not.

It all came to an abrupt close when Jack lost his bike lock.

On the second day of school.

Before he even had a chance to memorize THE code! (Great, now some other kid is running around with Jack's SS# hanging on his bike and in 15 years when someone steals Jack's identity, he'll have ME to thank!)

So I went and bought him a cheaper one. But I didn't let him use it for a long time because I forgot about it and because it just had some lame code that is already predetermined. He just used mine for awhile (which means I used mine on his bike). Well the other day I remembered about his and I gave it to him and told him the code.

He lost it two days later.

Wo is me.

So, so far this year, we have spent $15 on bike locks for Jack's bike, which is about 20 years old and someone gave to us
FOR FREE!

I am just going to end this post now,

by asking if anyone has a 20 year old bike lock that they don't need anymore?

(And if the code happened to be the same as the last 4 digits of Jack's SS#, that would be awesome.)

The Light

It hadn't been 20 minutes since I pressed "publish post" when I was looking at Jeff's cousin's blog and I began to feel bad about it. Her blog is just a smörgåsbord of little reasons why life is great.
Including a smattering of pictures of her friend's and families' newborns.

That is the light at the end of the tunnel. (Even if at times it is a little faint, right?)

I already have proof.

Three times.

And then today was the best day ever (since last Saturday, when Jeff was here and we had him all to ourselves all day). I feel better - because Dad let me sleep in. And the boys are happy and I am happy.

We
LOVE
when
DAD
is
HOME!!!

So this is my apology for the last post. Here's to great Dads and cute babies.
I can't wait!

If You Can't Say Something Nice Don't Say Anything At All

I see no light at the end of the tunnel.

Just the hole at the bottom of the toilet.

See you in January.
